What is the Phone Number Format in Ghana?

Most phone numbers in Ghana are written in the following formats:

   Prefix: long distance or international

   0   AA  SSSS SSS     - Local format
  +233 AA  SSSS SSS     - International format

Most telephone numbers in Ghana have 9 digits and are written in the format of "AA SSSS SSS". Here are some examples: 31 2001 904; 30 2904 840.

When dialing locally inside Ghana, the long distance prefix of "0" is required. So the format becomes "0 AA SSSS SSS".

When dialing from outside of Ghana, the international dial-in prefix "+233" is required. So the format becomes "+233 AA SSSS SSS".

When dialing from Ghana to other countries, the international dail-out prefix "+" or "00" required.
