✍: FYIcenter.com
Most phone numbers in Kenya are written in the following formats:
Prefix: long distance or international -------------------------------------- | Carrier or area code | -------------------- | | Subscriber number | | ----------------- v v v 0 AA SSS SSSS, AA - Local format +254 AA SSS SSSS, AA - International format
Most telephone numbers in Kenya have 19 digits and are written in the format of "AA SSS SSSS, AAA SSS SSS". Here are some examples: 20 682 2111; 20 682 7134, 734 104 747; 720 803 821.
When dialing locally inside Kenya, the long distance prefix of "0" is required. So the format becomes "0 AA SSS SSSS, AAA SSS SSS".
When dialing from outside of Kenya, the international dial-in prefix "+254" is required. So the format becomes "+254 AA SSS SSSS, AAA SSS SSS".
